December 9 marks the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Genocide, established by the United Nations. On this occasion, the Genocide, Holocaust, and Armed Conflict Training Center, established by the Civic Education Center and organized by the Faculty of Law of the International Black Sea University, will be held on December 4 as part of Genocide Awareness Week. Public Lecture – “Genocide: The Crime of Crimes”
⚖ The public lecture will discuss: the stages of the historical development of genocide as an international crime; Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted by the United Nations on December 9, 1948;
Peculiarities of national legislation in relation to crime, etc.
The format of the public lecture will also address individual cases of genocide, such as the genocide (Holocaust) perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire and Nazi Germany during World War I and World War II, as well as criminal acts in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.
The lecture will be led by Bakar Matsaberidze, Head of the Genocide Holocaust and Armed Conflict Training Center, established by the Civic Education Center.
The public lecture will be held through the Google Meet platform.
Students of International Black Sea University can attend.
Students will be awarded certificates.
